Hello,

I have a 3560x-24-t-s switch running c3560e-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE3.bin - This might be a silly question, but if I put the "boot system

flash:c3560e-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE3.bin" command it doesn't appear on the running or startup config between the boot-start-marker and boot-end-marker???? if I do show boot, it does show the correct path.. is just driving me crazy why it doesn't show on the configuration...any ideas?

hostname MYROUTER

!

boot-start-marker

boot-end-marker

MYROUTER#sh boot

BOOT path-list      : flash:c3560e-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE3.bin

Config file         : flash:/config.text

Private Config file : flash:/private-config.text

Enable Break        : no

Manual Boot         : no

Allow Dev Key         : yes

HELPER path-list    :

Auto upgrade        : yes

Auto upgrade path   :

NVRAM/Config file

      buffer size:   524288

Timeout for Config

          Download:    0 seconds

Config Download

via DHCP:       disabled (next boot: disabled)

I try it on a gns3 router that I have and it does show the path between boot-start and boot-end, I wonder if is a IOS bug????

boot-start-marker

boot system flash:ios.bin

boot-end-marker

Cheers!!!

M

Hi,

On smaller switch models, that is the correct behavior.  You can only have one boot statement and when you do "sh run" it will not show it, as that is default, but as you already know when you do a "sh boot" you see the correct image.

So, if you add a second boot statement, it will replace the first one.

Please, oh please, DO NOT USE IOS version 15.0(2)SE3.

Cisco has already pulled all download links to this very specific version for all appliances.  Stick to either 12.2(55)SE7 or 15.0(2)SE2.

That's not a bug.  This behaviour is evident in all Cat 2K and 3K switches.

Thank you of all you for your replies and the FYI on this IOS I was not aware of.  I wish I could rated it all of you.  Thanks again!!!

You can rate all of our posts, if you want.  There's no limitation how many posts (other than yours) you can rate.  You just can't rate the same post more than once.

12.2(55)SE8 and 15.0(2)SE4 are now ready for download.

I agree with Leo that kindly downgrade your firmware first.

There is quite huge discussion going on this release which you are running on your switch.
