Hi,
I want to confirm this is a licensing issue. On a 3750X with ipbase, I cannot create a vrf.
So I would need the universal image, and that is a seperate license, correct?
Is there a link that describes the difference bewteen ipbase and univeral images?
Thanks.

Yes VRF is only supported in IP services. Please see this document for full information on licensing for the 3750X.

I noticed if I boot the univeral image it provides an eight week evaluation period.
Do you happen to know if the image will back-level itself to the base image when the eval period is over or will I have to manually change the boot image?
In other words, it will boot the universal image file but only provide base services from it?

After the 8 weeks expires, the switch will continue to run until you reboot the switch. Once rebooted, it goes back to whatever permanent license the switch has.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I understood from the output it will revert regarding the license.
CE.ROUTER#sh license
Index 1 Feature: ipservices
Period left: 8 weeks 4 days
License Type: Evaluation
License State: Active, Not in Use, EULA not accepted
License Priority: None
License Count: Non-Counted
Index 2 Feature: ipbase
Period left: Life time
License Type: Permanent
License State: Active, In Use
License Priority: Medium
License Count: Non-Counted
Index 3 Feature: lanbase
Period left: 0 minute 0 second
My question is whether or not I'll have to change the boot image back to ip base.
Thanks.

Hi,
I am not sure. But the worse case scenario would be that you reboot the switch 2 times, if the switch does not remove the temp license boot statement after the expiration.
