3750x doesn't boot after upgrade to version15 - Page 2

Due to a problem with POE+ i have tried to upgrade the IOS to Version15.0.2SE2, from 12.2.58. unfortunatly the Switch doesn't boot up anymore. It starts to decompress and install the IOS 2 Times, after the Second try it displays "unable to boot" and the switch goes in Bootloader-mode.

When i look at the version i See that bootloader is still the old version 12.2.58.

It seems that the bootloader doesn't geht upgraded and that's why the Switch can't Boot the new Image.

Is there anything i can do to Upgrade the bootloader seperatly?

It's a 3750X48PF-S

Switches are not like BlueRay or DVD. There is no "regional" firmware/bootstrap.

Got this error:

And offricial statement from cisco was that these switches are built for the North-American market.

This is not the problem, because this was taken from a different switch-stack. I've done my testings on different swicthes (which are not running at the moment) but these are from the same shipment.

I have tried 150-2.SE2, ipbasek9 and universalk9 and universalk9npe, as bin and tar.

I don't see any "logic" as to how a switch can understand or determine what region/country it's in.

Like I said, switches are NOT like DVD or BR players. There are no region codes. If there were region codes, Cisco would be in big trouble from WAN providers as they ship network equipments all across a geographical region. No, it doesn't make any sense.

The only thing I can think of that could be causing this problem are two things:

1. An IOS bug; or

2. Fake Cisco equipment.

The only way to determine which is which is to contact Cisco and raise a TAC case.

And this is exactly what i did, i was in contact with a cisco TAC and he forwarded me after some testings to the local cisco representitiv. From Cisco we received an official E-Mail which is saying that these switches are for the North-American and Asian market.

Firstly, I don't work for Cisco, OK?

I had a close look at your "sh version" output. This bit is suspicious. In regards to both serial numbers (taken from the same chassis), the first three letters (FDO) is the factory ID. The next two numbers are the year of manufacturer.

This is telling me that the system serial number is OLDER than the daughterboard. This doesn't make any sense. Can you tell us WHEN is the manufacturing date of the switch stack master? It's in a yellow sticker on the upper right-hand side of the switch.

how the license activation happening in Cisco switches?

Why I'm asking because

it's command to activate on switch itself and there is no need to activate or give any license key for that activation.

then what is meaning of getting licence document from Cisco for going LAN base to IP base license.

The license PAK algorithm is stored in a different area of the switch that will never be touched by the flash.

personally, i don't know why your upgrade fails but i upgrade many switches and they are still using original bootloader (12.2(58r)SE boot 15.0(2)SE2 ios):
