3850 Denali software process to "rollback"

I have been search for an automated way to do what used to be "software rollback". In the new world the command "request platform software" is not well documented and only seems to appear in release notes and here as far as Cisco provided information is concerned. I have not looked elsewhere.

I know I can rename packages.conf and then copy packages.conf.00- to packages.conf and reload to go back to a previous version. In this particular case I did a downgrade from 16.9.1 to 16.3.6. I would like to go back to 16.9.1 and have the packages files to be the way the switch would have them as the software rollback command used to do.

Think I will do this. It isn't a stack so don't have to do this multiple times.

copy flash:packages.conf packages.conf-16-3-6

copy flash:packages.conf.00  packages.conf

copy  flash:packages.conf-16-3-6 packages.conf.00-

But there should be a software rollback. Should not have to go through another install.
