Hi,
Has anyone tried to do a password reset on the new 3850X switch? I have tried the usual Hold Mode button for 15sec on reboot but thats not even interrupting the boot process.
Also these new switches come with a reset button at the back...what does that really suppose to do? I have pressed it but it has only managed to reload the switch.
Thanks
PZ

Kept trying and bang....so I kept holding the mode button for slightly over a minute and it finally worked. Now I have the usual switch: but now there is no flash:config.text anymore.
Any idea what the new procedure is anyone?

Hello,
Glad you got it working. The mode button serves a few purposes including resetting the switch back to factory default (wiping the config). If you get into the dilemma again, below is a link to the clean password recovery method.

Did you do the "flash_init"?
Can you post the output to the command "dir flash:"?

Yes Leo I did. But the issue was the old procedure does not work on the new 3850 switches anymore. Thanks anyways
