I have a Catalyst 4006 siries 4000 I can't seem to get out of Rommon I have searched everything I can online and have found a lot of commands but when I put them in it gives me a bad command error.Any Ideas of what to try.

If its at rommon do a dir bootflash: and see if there is a actual catos file in there . If so just issue a boot bootflash: and see if it will load . This should help , read thru it specially the cat 4000 section .

I did the dir bootflash it came up saying bad divice name.

Try giving a "reset" and see if it helps.

Hi,
could you pls try the below steps,
rommon> priv
rommon>dev >>> the output of this command will show you the list of file systems present
Based on that you can try accessing the memory device.
if the internal memory device is not accessible, then try booting the device from an external flash.
dir disk0:
useful commands:
=============
rommon> sync >> used to save the configs
rommon> BOOT= >> clearing the present boot variable.
rommon> BOOT=
rommon>set >> output of this command will list you the present boot variable configured, configuration register etc.
Dont forget to do a sync after configuring the boot variable & configuration register.
You can try xmodem recovery in the rommon as well.
