Hi dear community,

I am planning to upgrade our company's 4500x switch IOS from 03.04.02.SG to 03.11.03a.E

Is it possible?

The current ROMMON version is 15.0(1r)SG10 and I read that i must first upgrade the ROMMON to SG11 at least.

I plan to upgrade the ROMMON to SG15.

The upgrade steps are below but i am wondering why step 4 is needed when it has been removed in step 1. Maybe it is an accidental typo.

no boot system flash bootflash:OLD_IOS.bin
boot system flash bootflash:firmwareupgradeallK10-150_1r_SG15.SPA
boot system flash bootflash:NEW_IOS.bin
boot system flash bootflash:OLD_IOS.bin

I also understand i must update the tacacs-server commands to tacacs server as tacacs-server is legacy command and not supported in the new IOS?

Kindly advise if direct upgrade from 03.04.02 to 03.11.03 possible and any other advise is deeply appreciated.

It is not a type-o. It is there to save your a$$ if the new IOS fails to boot.

Remove the line if you don't believe me.
