4507R+E 10Gb port show inactive

I have a 10Gb SFP installed that shows inactive status.

It is just configured for a vlan which is configured on the switch.

Only a handfull of other 10Gb ports in use. Any ideas?

To what device the SFP is connected? Does that device support 10Gig?

Can you post:

sh interface x/x

and 

sh run interface x/x

Yes it does. Its on one of the 10Gb ports on SUP1 which another active 10Gb is UP and on.

very basic configs

switchport mode trunk

switchport trunk allowed vlan X

Try using a different SFP+
