As a simplicafication, if a port doesn't have full bandwidth to the fabric, it's considered blocking. In the 4500 line cards, there's a least one (4418-GB) where some ports on the card are non-blocking while the others are blocking. Yes and no. It depends on the installed supervisor. The older supervisors normally support only 4 queues (e.g. sup V), and they don't trust by default. The newer supervisors (e.g. sup 7) have, I believe, what you describe.

Laugh - I didn't. Sup 7 was an example of a "newer" 4500 supervisor. Sup 8 is "newer" still.
