6509 QoS Help

I've tried to apply QoS based on 'priority' to an SVI on a 6509, and since discovered this is not supported.

I've spent a long time reading the Cisco docs on 6500 QoS, but I'm somewhat confused as to what I need to do to enable QoS for the following senario.

- A customer would like to guarantee 40% of available bandwidth( both ingress & egress) across a fibre WAN link based on IP addressing. 
- The SVI is in a VRF.  The Vlan is trunked out a shared GigE interface to a 'transmission switch'. (I can move this to a dedicated physical GigE interface if necessary)

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi

Ethernet interface has hardware queues in 6500 swtiches and you can not do shaping but you can allocate a queue for such traffic. It depends on your linecard qudeueing mechanism however I suugest that you review QOS SRND ver 4.0 for more details
