6509E IOS upgrade failure

Hello,

I have upgraded my 6509E to a new IOS version and delete the old one, after reboot, it enter the rommon mode, but the terrible thing is, there is no any tftp command, how can I upload an IOS in it? Please help, thanks!!!

Hi,

What type of supervisor you have? Could you share the output o the boot up process the device is doing? This will help to identify if the 6500 is in the SP or RP rommon.

did you have any boot system commands? or change them to point to the new ios?

at rommon if you type >set

what is the output?

check the commands in rommon. there is one to show you the ios (if it uploaded correctly) in the bootflash. you can then just type

> boot

then make sure you have your boot system commands correct!

If you have either Sup32 or Sup720 you can load the correct IOS into a CF.
