802.1AE MACsec over SDH

Hi,

for MACsec to be operational the two switches needs to be  interconnected directly, as far as I know.

Does MACsec works over Ethernet-over-SDH links ?  Are there any limitations ?

Hi,

Can someone help on this, please?

I have two sites connected over Metro Ethernet, and the links are connected to 3560-X switches. There is a MUX in between these locations, so it is not a Dark Fibre.  But each switch can see the other device through CDP. So virtually, the intermediate link is a physical layer link.

Will MACsec work on this? Or it will work only on Dark Fibre links for geographically dispersed sites.
