9200 Management port bug

Hi

I currently have 2 x 9200 switches, which are operating as individual switches (not stacked)

I have the management port in its management vrf with the interface set to

ip address dhcp

*Jan  8 11:02:06.974: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet0/0, changed state to up *Jan  8 11:02:07.024: %HMANRP-6-EMP_NO_ELECTION_INFO: Could not elect active EMP switch, setting emp active switch to 0: EMP_RELAY: Could not elect switch with mgmt port UP *Jan  8 11:02:07.974: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface GigabitEthernet0/0, changed state to up *Jan  8 11:02:16.973: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet0/0, changed state to down *Jan  8 11:02:17.976: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface GigabitEthernet0/0, changed state to down

I have upgraded the IOS to cat9k_lite_iosxe.16.12.02.SPA.bin

and the issue is still appearing

Any idea please ?

Hello,

in theory, this message should indeed only occur in combination with Stackwise Virtual. I checked for bugs but could not find any. You could try and manually disable stackwise, maybe that helps:

9200(config)#no stackwise-virtual

Hello JamesSimpson34554,

The error occurs when you put de command ip address DHCP?

If you try to put a fixed IP address, do you have an error?

I think do you need o route too in VRF, ip route vrf management 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 X (your gateway for this network).

switch clear stack-mode was applied and this did not clear the bug.

No stack-wise virtual does not existing on the IOS of this witch
