IPhoneRZ
Level 1
Level 1

hello,

I have to upgrade my 9300 switches to some new IOS (with Vulnerability/Security Support)

Currently I have:

3xC9300-24Y (3x in stack) - IOS 17.06.03

2xC9300-48T (standalone) - IOS 17.03.04

3x9300-24T  (standalone) - IOS 17.06.04

Question, is it good idea to upgrade to latest IOS 17.10.x ?? or do You suggest to something between ??

Thanks,

17.6.4 still good version - until you are fancy and want to help Cisco TAC upgrading to latest version

if yo made decsion to go latest then Look at the release notes and understand caveats.

 - Best is to use latest advisory : https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286313950/type/282046477/release/Bengaluru-17.6.4  , use very latest only when really needed and or coordinate with TAC if security issues are still seen on latest advisory ,

17.10.1 is a single-release firmware. Meaning, there will be no 17.10.2 or 17.10.3 or 17.10.4, etc.

Only go to 17.10.1 if there is an operation feature that is found only in 17.10.1.

Personally, I found 17.6.4 to be a good version to stay on.
