Hi
I want to deploy a pair of 9404's with Quad Sup's connecting using stackwise virtual. Does anyone know if there is any limitations for using ISSU upgrade for the 2 switches connected this way? I need to assure minimal downtime.
thanks
Dan

I do not see any issue here, that is the reason we choose Quad Sup for minimal downtime, (but make sure your configuration SVL and end device dual-homed ensure end device connection work as expected.

Hi Balaji
thanks for the response! One last question, I would be able to use the interfaces on the Supervisors to stand up the SVL?
thanks
Dan

yes, that is the requirement for SVL to use SUP cards, look at the post I have advised in the first link , it got SVL configuration.

Hi Balaji
The C9400-SUP-1XL-Y also has two 40gig ports. I'm assuming they can also be used for the Stackwise virtual links? even though not listed on chart above?

Personally 10GB good enough, No one likes to waste 40GB optic to check the heartbeat SVL Link ( make sense ?)

Have a look at the ISSU Matrix because this is the "general" rule of what can/cannot be done via ISSU.
Check each version's Release Notes because there are times "exceptions" or "exemptions" contradicts the matrix.
Lastly, be very careful with ISSU or FSU/eFSU because it is not cracked up as it meant to be.
