9500 and old switches sfp compatibility?

I'm planning to get C9500-48Y4C with sfp 10Gbase-SR, would this setup be compatible with my branches switches (with 20-40km distance) that are using 1000BaseLX SFP?

No, it will not work.

SR stands for SHORT Reach.

For a distance of 20-40 kms, LR (LONG Reach) is needed.

The remote end must also use the same optics speed, i.  e.  10 Gbps, for this link to work.

Another thing, the behaviour of the optics will depend on what firmware the 9500 on and what the brand of the optics is.

I'm getting all cisco brand sfp .But 10g sfp will not work with 1g sfp? even if i get long range for the 10g instead of short range?

Most definitely not.

Both ends need to be the same speed and the same wavelengths.

i found out that all branches are using this sfp 1000BaseLX SFP. is it compatible with my C9500-48Y4C if i bought the same sfp model on it to connect the branches?

That will depend entirely on the firmware the 9500 is on.  There is a very, very long list of SFP/SFP+ and/or OIR bugs platforms running on IOS-XE.  Just search for the term "cisco 9500 oir bug" and the result spans several pages.

The only way around any one of these bugs is to regularly, like every 12 months, cold reboot the 9500.

You need to use Same speed LR transceivers for both sides.
