I have connected stack cable on two cisco switches to form a stack.
When I use command "show switch", one switch is master role with higher priority number while the other one is member role with lower priority number and both state are "Ready". I tried to power off the member role switch and the status become "removed".
After that, I tried to power on again the member role switch, it no longer rejoined the stack and still in "removed" status.
Is there any configuration.
Are there any solutions to fix it?
Thanks.

Hi,
Once the switch is configured to becomes a member, there is no need for additional configuration, and no matter how many times you reload it, it should come back as a member. You may want to reprovision the switch as a new member again (see link), save the config, and reboot.

Power cycle both switchs and checked again to see if that member switch joins sucessfully

As the other posters have described, the member switch should have rejoined the stack.
As you didn't mention the switches being used nor their IOS versions, it's possible a "later" IOS would work better.

It seems a known bug.
Just wanna know the steps for IOS XE version update procedure for switch stack (e.g 4 switches in a stack).
Thanks.
