IE 3300 Question

I am wondering if 2 of the IEM-3300-16T can go on an IE-3300? I have an application that needing about 40 ethernet cables into a rugged ethernet switch.

look at the datasheet: Cisco Catalyst IE3300 Rugged Series Data Sheet - Cisco

  Expandable

◦    to up to 26 ports of GE by attaching one of 8 compatible modules (copper, PoE, fiber and 2.5G with IEEE® 802.3bt type 4 options)

◦    to up to 24 ports of GE plus 2 ports of 10G by attaching one of the 8 compatible modules (copper, PoE, fiber and 2.5G with IEEE® 802.3bt type 4 options)

 

-> not 2 expansion modules, not more than 26 ports.

 

your alternative is two switches connected together

look at. Table 2-1 lists the supported port combinations of switch and expansion modules.
