I am using cisco 3850-24t-s with the latest IOS XE 16.12.5b.
It was found that the local login username and password are forgotten and therefore it was fail to login for configuration anymore.
I tried to use the reset button at the back of the switch but no luck.
Is there any way to factory reset the switch in my case?

I did tred to boot up the switch to the operation system software.
An I tried to enter the command "SWITCH_IGNORE_STARTUP_CFG"=1
and then use the command "boot" to reboot.
However, it still boot up to my existing start up configuration and required credential to login the switch.

Password recovery of the config will also erase the config of the switch. This is behaviour is not a bug.
