Hello,
I have to add a TenGig card in my cisco WS-C6509-E.
We usualy add WS-X6708-10GE. But currently we only have WS-X6708-10G-3C left.
I already looked in cisco website for the compatibility but i am still unsure.
1- Is the WS-X6708-10G-3C works fine on the switch WS-C6509-E ?
2 - what is the difference between WS-X6708-10GE and WS-X6708-10G-3C ?
Thanks for your help.

It depends on your sup. If your sup is 3CXL, than you need WS-X6708-10G-3CXL card. If your sup is not XL, than you can put WS-X6708-10G-3C but it will function as a non-XL card.

The part number should have 3C or 3CXL at the end of it.
have a look at table-1 for the correct part numbers.
