Hello all, I have a problem with like about 30 AP out of 400. These 30 AP reboot by itself once in while. I was thinking that maybe it have to do with the IOS I am running, but there are some with the same IOS no having this issue. Can anybody provide me with an idea on how to better determing the problem. ( I just started working with Wireless)

Thanks

Hello,

which IOS version are you running on the Access Points ?

There are a few bugs related to intermittent reboots, here are two of them:

CSCee63284 Bug Details

Headline: 1200APs intermittently rebooting

Product: c1200 Model

Component: c1200-11g-radio-sw Duplicate of

First Found-in Version: 12.2(15)JA

First Fixed-in Version: 12.3(2)JA, 12.2(15)XR01, 12.3(2)XT03 Version help

Release Notes

1200 APs' running 12.2(15)JA reboot intermittently. The message that the AP displays before the reboot is %LINK-5-CHANGED: Interface Dot11Radio0, changed state to reset.

The problem is not reproducible and there is no current workaround.

CSCea66593 Bug Details

Headline: AP1200 sporadic reboots due to protection violation in tRcv_awc0

Product: ap1200 Model ap1200

Component: ap1200-sw Duplicate of

First Found-in Version: 12.4, 12.2T1

Customer reports a portion of his installed AP1200s reboot sporadically. Sometimes, the reboots happen every 2 or 3 hours, some times they will not reboot

for several days. Customer has upgraded to 12.02T1 without effect. Customer attached a console to a unit, as was able to capture the following output when the unit rebooted:

*** Restarting System in 5 seconds...

protection violation/data access

Exception current instruction address: 0x00030788

Machine Status Register: 0x00001210

Condition Register: 0x42800042

Task: 0xb2c900 "tRcv_awc0"

Customer reports that all AP1200s in his network are hardcoded to 100/half and that they are connected to non-Cisco switches. As well, there are two VLANs

in use.

At this time, there is no workaround available.

Regards,

GP

Thanks GP. I need to upgrade to 12.2(15)XR2.
