I'd like to move our AP connection to 1GB, we don't have any POE GB switches in location, I used a Power Injector to supply power to the APs, however when I put this in the mix the AP continuously restarts and is not able to see the controller?
WLC 5508 7.6.130.0
AP AIR-CAP3502I-N-K9, Version ID V01
Interface configuration is identical
interface GigabitEthernet0/1
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 228
switchport trunk allowed vlan 228,230,231
switchport mode trunk
spanning-tree portfast
Any ideas?
Thanks
Brendan

Typical issue when you have a cabling problem. Is the switch a 3560G?

Yes it is "WS-C3560G-48TS"
The original switch was a "WS-C3560V2-48PS"
I am simply taking the feed from the AP, running it to the server room, patching to the Power Injector, patching to the C3560G.

3560G supports TDR. I have no idea how "accurate" the results are with the power injector in place but you could give it a try.
1. Command: test cable tdr interface Gi 0/1;
2. Wait for approximately 5 to 7 seconds;
3. Command: show cable tdr interface Gi 0/1; and
4. Post the output to # 3.
NOTE: I cannot guarantee the accuracy of the result due to the IOS firmware and the inherit issue with TDR and 3560-series line of switches.

Interface Speed Local pair Pair length Remote pair Pair status
--------- ----- ---------- ------------------ ----------- --------------------
Gi0/9 1000M Pair A 41 +/- 4 meters Pair A Normal
Pair B 40 +/- 4 meters Pair B Normal
Pair C 45 +/- 4 meters Pair C Normal
Pair D 41 +/- 4 meters Pair D Normal
If I set the interface mode access, the AP is reachable. Fails only when in Trunk mode.

Oh. Ok, I didn't see this.
If you've got a controller, the ports should be access ports. If you're running autonomous IOS then the ports should be 802.1Q Trunk.
