To verify the contents of the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) in switch ,I am testing on switch.
do I need to do any configuration in rommon mode to get ARP entry. Please let me know

- ARP resolution , if needed is only relevant when the switch is in 'production mode' running IOS (or NX-OS).

Hi,
Really I never tried and never thought about it. There is no such option and ARP resolution is only available if a switch in the production (ready to production) with proper IOS.

I do not agree that arp resolution is only available when a switch has booted into normal operating status. While the switch is in rommon we can run tftpdnld to get copy of the image file from a tftp server. To communicate over an ethernet interface the switch must be able to learn the destination mac address and how would it get the destination mac address other than arp?
I would agree that the tools that we use to examine the mac address table and the arp table do not work in rommon. We may not have any way to see the arp entry while in rommon. But that does not necessarily mean that arp did not work.

Hello
Just like to add when you initiate tftpdnld from rommon it will begin to arp for the mac address of the specified tftp server as @Richard Burts stated , Also if you include the tftp_verbose=2 you should see rtr/switch arp'ing being displayed
