Need direction on how to access my router login.  I enter the ip address but all I receive back is that it timed out or the address is incorrect.  I have the right IP address but cannot seem to access the login and password.

I am trying to log in just so I can tell it to allow FTP and assign the login and password....any one able to help me?

Thank you!

Daphne

Hi Daphne,

I assume this firewall is on production right?, is your computer IP address allowed on the SSH section on the ASA?

I am not sure...I am not an expert on this sort of thing.  I followed a step by step video to add an FTP on my computer but the last step is to type in your IP address and then it was suppose to send me to my router login and password page.

Do you know the management IP address of the Firewall 5505?

apparently not...i have a folder with all sorts of information that the previous employee had when setting this up.  I have the router/ gateway ip address and there is a password but cannot use it if it wont take me to the login site.  ugh....   I see the IPv6 address....probably not the right thing.

Hello,

Sounds like you are trying to log into your ASA 5505 Firewall via the web browser. Is that correct? If so, ensure you use https://<ip address> and not http://. From there, considering all has been configured right, you should be directed to Install ASDM or Run ASDM. From here, you should be able to log into the firewall via the ASDM launcher.

Unfortunately that did not work either =(

This is what I keep getting...

Hi Daphne,

It looks like you are using the default IP address, was this firewall on production or is it on production currently? it could have other Management IP and your computer IP could not have the permission to handle the device, try from the technician computer.

Thank you
