Asymmetric bandwidth limit on Cat2960 or 3560

Hi everyone,

I have the requirement to assign an asymmetric bandwith limit to each port on a switch (example: 4Mbps downlink, 1Mbps uplink). I've been searching and found the option to apply policers or srr-queue mechanism to achive this, however this only applies for one direction only as far as I know.

Any ideas? Catalyst 2960 familiy is preferred, however if this is not possible, will possibly jump to the 3560X family.

Thanks in advance!

Regards

JS

Not sure about the 2960, but believe you can police ingress on 3560/3750s.  Also believe both 2960s and 3560/3750 share similar egress features which include egress queue shaping and port bandwidth usage shaping.

Hi Joseph, how do you manage to shape teh egress traffic on a 2960?

I made some test and now I'm able to police the ingress traffic, but not the egress.

Thanks!
