Attempted to reset 2811 to default settings, now Putty shows just Gibberish.

I was attempting to reset a Cisco 2811 router to factory default settings.  Hit break and ended up at the rommon prompt.

I then typed (or I thought I did), confreg 0x2142.  at the next prompt I did a reset.

Now just gibberish output to Putty.  What to do now?  Thanks.

Thanks Luis.  The terminal settings are correct.  I was already in the router.  I just bought it and couldn't get past the password so I was trying to reset to factory default settings.  I think I've messed up bad.  I can't do anything with it now.  The link you sent me looks like the instructions I was using.  I was trying to  type in the confreg 0x2142 but I think I typed in something else by mistake.

Hi @Jdw2 ,

I attached you to the link of the procedure in case you miss something.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/routers/2600-series-multiservice-platforms/22188-pswdrec-2600.html

If now you see only squiggles, I recommend trying different speeds in your terminal. By default the speed is 9600.

Regards

I played around with the baud rate . 19200 did the trick.  I have my router back!.  Thanks Luis!
