hi,

do cisco routers' fast ethernet ports supports auto mdix? (cisco 878 or 1841)

i read that cisco 878 support auto mdix but i can't see it on any fastethernet ports..is it about my ios or doesn't it support auto mdix?

yes it supports it.

Autosensing function

Eliminates the need for a crossover cable and allows the router to  detect medium-dependent interface in normal mode (MDI) or  medium-dependent interface in crossover mode (MDIX) in any other PC or  hub with a straight-through cable or a crossover cable. The router is  capable of bridging and multiprotocol routing between the LAN and WAN  ports.

ok. do you know how can i see it on 878 router.for example i can see this feature in a switch

by command " show interfaces transceiver properties"

but this command doesn't work on 878 router...
