A long shot..........is there a command for the following:
If port fa0/0 on a 2811 router for example has gone down for whatever reason, is there a command to say if this port is down automatically shut down fa0/1 also.
The reason is for a multicast tunnelling setup I have between a switch & a router and if the DR 2811fa0/0 goes down the router may still remain a DR for multicast, I want to fail multicast and promote the other 2811 BDR ro DR. This tunnel is purely to avoid a F5 load balancer which doesn't support L3 multicast. My tunnelling works fine, and if the DR router fails (both interfaces) multicast continues working as the BDR has been promoted to DR, but if 1 interface failures on the DR then there's an issue and that's when I have to shutdown the other interface manually in my tests so far.
