Banner in switch

Hello

I am creating a banner.

when i put this command then some options are appear .

s1(config)# banner ?

  there are some option appear

Line

Exec

incoming

MOTD

prompt-timeout

slipp-ppp

Plz tell me if i set banner on these option then where banner will be display. define me in easy words. thanks

Hi,

motd is one that is usually used the most. You can also configure it for exec which means you will see the message when you are in exec mode. You can also set it for "incoming" tty lines as well as for "prompt-timeout", which means when the session is timing out. "slipp-ppp" are older protocols and not used as much anymore.

Hi,

Here is an example.  After creating it, you should see this banner every time you login:

Config t

banner motd ^ 

This system is the property of nnn_sss22@yahoo.com
Unauthorized access is strictly prohibited.

Line banner will dispaly on telnet session or console session and also some describe me about incoming banner. when it will display. thanks
