basic NTP Configuration

Hi There 

i have VSS configured 4500 series switch and i need it to be NTP server and the other devices to sync clock from this server and i want the basic configuration only  ?

Hi, 

For the server:

ntp master 7

ntp update-calendar
ntp server <Public Server address>

clock timezone <Your Local Time Zone>

 

and for the client:

ntp update-calendar
ntp server <NTP Server Switch IP>

clock timezone <Your Local Time Zone>

Hi, 

Here I am sharing the NTP configuration for your switch:

ntp master 7

ntp update-calendar
ntp server <Public Server address>

clock timezone <Your Local Time Zone>

 

But keep in mind that it is not recommended to keep your switch as NTP master. It is advised to use an NTP master as your servers as AD/DNS/DHCP or any trusted public source.
