Basic vlan help

Needing help with setting up the specifications on the switches. I have started with the three switches but not sure where to start off from there. Down below are the specifications needed.

Create a packet tracer that has 3 Cisco 2960 switches, with each connected to the others (Trunked) using the Gigabit Ethernet Ports.

Create your own sub-netted layer 3 IP scheme.

Add a series of end devices to each switch, (PC1-PC15).

     PC1-6 on S1

     PC7-12 on S2

     PC13-15 on S3

Create VLANs 10(IT), 20(Students), 30(Instructors) on each switch.

Assign the following for VLAN 10:

     SW1, FastEthernet 0/1-10

     SW2, FastEthernet 0/1-6

     SW3, FastEthernet 0/1-15

Assign the following for VLAN 20:

     SW1, FastEthernet 0/11-16

     SW2, FastEthernet 0/7-12

     SW3, FastEthernet 0/16-20

Assign the following for VLAN 30:

     SW1, FastEthernet 0/17-24

     SW2, FastEthernet 0/13-18

     SW3, FastEthernet 0/21-24

The following PC's should be able to communicate:

VLAN 10:

  PC1, PC2, PC7, PC8, PC13

VLAN 20:

  PC3, PC4, PC9, PC10, PC14

VLAN 30:

  PC5, PC6, PC11, PC12, PC15

*Will not allow me to add packet tracer file.

Hello,

I have set up a basic network, according to your requirements. The PCs do not have IP addresses assigned. I have created three DHCP pools on S2, you can take this addressing scheme for reference, and manually assign the IP addresses to your PCs.

Yes I am suppose to connect them via (Trunked) using the Gigabit Ethernet Ports. Was not sure how to do that and then create the rest of the list. I don't think any configurations are needed.

You should go via Free Net Academy course about PT, how to use it, what is for and what can u do in PT, etc.

PT has GUI config section for some of configs, (not real on real devices),  so You do not need to know some commands but those are:

to make port access one command is

switchport mode access

to add port into vlan commands are

switchport access vlan 10

to add vlans, command is vlan x

To make trunking port command is "switchport mode trunk"

Use Tutorials under PT Help menu; http://tutorials.ptnetacad.net/tutorials80.htm

also there are working samples of files under PT Files > Open samples
