Hi All,
What are the criteria we have to check befor buying a BGP support router .?
I am planning to buy cisco 2911 .
Do i want to check the IOS ver ? Memory ?
Please help ........

Hi,
Yes you do need to check both those things.
How big is your BGP routing table going to be?
For example if you want a copy of the entire BGP routing table from the Internet you are going to need more memory to support it than if it was just a few private BGP routes.

but tell me, i am going to purchase cisco 2911 k9 with 256mb flash ans 512mb dram. Is this enoguh for me to run bgp without entire routing table from internet?
Or i want to download entire routing table how much flash/dram i need ?
forgive me if iam worongle asking somthing...

In that case then the router will probably not cope with the load placed upon it.
This is the latest post I remember reading about storing the entire Internet routing table on a router. As stated by one of the posters Giuseppe that's over 320 000 routes and you would need 2G of memory and a fast CPU.
