Best way to isolate a noisy link in a port-channel

Got 2 6509's interconnected with a 4  gig port-channel. One of the 1 gig links that composes the port-channel has a high level of inbound errors(crc etc). What's the best method to isolate that link from the port-channel for troubleshooting WITHOUT disrupting traffic across the port-channel.

hello
shut the physical interface down and then remove it.

it wont disrupt the port channel as long as their are other interfaces running

Take the port channel commands off the interface .  That takes it out of the port channel.

Won't that cause the port-channel to bounce? I'm trying to avoid any disruptions to the traffic flow.
