BGP Switch Recommendation

yamat5

Level 1

Looking for recommendation:

For our backend production systems we currently have a pair of Cisco WS-C3750X-48T-E distribution L3 switches with links to various layer 2 Top of Rack (TOR) Cisco WS-C3750X-48T-S switches. All using 1Gbps links

We want to:

Connect our two facilities with a pair of BGP enabled 10G links

Replace our current pair of Cisco WS-C3750X-48T-E backend distribution routers with a model that can support 10Gbps links. We want to use this replacement model as the distribution routers in building 2.

Any recommendation would be appreciated.

Hello @yamat5,

Since you need basic routing, check C9300 series.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-9300-series-switches/nb-06-cat9300-ser-data-sheet-cte-en.html#Platformbenefits

You can stack them, basic BGP configuration, adapte your model with up to 10G uplinks with NM modules.

Best regards
