Topic at work if unmanged switches send out BPDUs, I didnt think they did.
I grabbed a el cheapo 5 port unmanged switch, connected up my enet notebook connection to the unmanaged switch, turned on wireshark, and never saw any bpdu's ...was this a correct way to test it of does it depend on the unmanaged switch model?

It was the correct way to test...
I'm afraid the results are only valid for the specific brand & type of switch you tested.
At least I would not count on this to make a generic deduction.

I wouldn't expect to see BPDUs from an unmanaged switch. If a switch is unmanaged, what STP will it use? How are port costs and/or root set, etc.
