C3650 SIF POST failed

Hello All,

I had a brand new C3650 recently.  It only worked for 3 days, and I got error message "BIST fail. Abort init..." suddenly. So I followed Bug search tool to upgrade firmware from 3.6.6E to 3.7.4E, and the error message is gone. But I got another message "Reason Code:[4] Reset Reason:Reset/Reload requested by [stack-manager].[SIF POST failed]". Now I'm stuck. Does anyone have this error before? Any ideas to fix?

Thanks,

Danny

Two questions:

  1. Did you use the "reset" command or did you pull the power cable?
  2. What firmware are you trying to boot?  3.6.X and earlier?

Hi Leo,

1. I pulled power cable

2. I had just upgraded the firmware from 3.6.6E to 3.7.4E because of CSCu95378 bug. Now I have this bug.

Thanks,

Danny

Is the 3.6.6 firmware still in the flash?

Hi Leo,

No, I do the emergency-install and I had just checked.

Thanks,

Danny

Hi All,

Since the switch only can boot into rommon mode, I can not do the dir crashinfo for more information. I had also boot the switch on old 3.3.0SE from USB. I got a little more detail error message. However, as I said before, this switch has no any stack kits installed. I don't know why showing this error.
