C3850-NM-4-10G not working

I have two new WS-C3850-24T with C3850-NM-4-10G modules and in both switches they won't work, showing following errors during boot:

"Booting...
Interface GE 0 link down***ERROR: PHY link is down"

..

" %PLATFORM_PM-6-FRULINK_UNKNOWN_INSERTED: Unsupported FRU module inserted in slot 1"

Currently they are running the suggested release cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.08.E.152-2.E8.bin in INSTALL mode, I have also tried a few older Releases in BUNDLE mode, but the error persists. Any ideas?

Hi there,

The NM-4-10g does not work in the 24 port models, only the 48 port 3850's.

The NM-2-10g does work.

Let me find the datasheet....

"The C3850-NM-4-10G module is supported only on the 48-port Gigabit Ethernet models or on the 12-port or higher 10 Gigabit Ethernet models. The C3850-NM-8x10G and C3850-NM-2x40G modules are supported on the 24-port and 48-port multigigabit switches and also on the 24-port 10G SFP+ switch model. The C3850-NM-4-1G and C3850-NM-2-10G modules are not supported on the 12-port and 24-port SFP+ models."

Search for "Table 2"
