If there are modules attached, remove them and reboot the switch.

Could you try a different IOS? Try the latest 15.0(2)SE train.
You'll need to force the switch to boot into ROMmon and force the switch to boot the IOS using USB.

If there are modules attached, remove them and reboot the switch.

No it still hangs in there.

Could you try a different IOS? Try the latest 15.0(2)SE train.

I have already upgraded it to latest ios: Version 15.2(4)E6, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc4)

Try a different version. The latest 15.0(2)SE is a good one to use.

Your solution worked. But I dont want it to happen each time the switch reboots. Again after installing the modules the same issue persists. Please suggest a permanent solution to this problem.
