Hi,
I thought the C3KX-NM-10G would show up as a switch service module according to the documentation for upgrading the code. Why isn't this listed but shows up in inventory?
Thanks.

C3KX-SM-10G is the service module (with added functionality) for C3750X (C3KX-NM-10G is just a network module)...

Hi,
C3KX-NM-10G is a Network Module and not a Service Module which means that the NM does not use internal IOS and should not be shown in the switch service-module command. This is an expected behavior.
Thanks,
Arun

Hi there,
A Service Module by definition brings additional functionallity to a platform: VPN, firewall, IDS.
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/interfaces-modules/services-modules/tsd-products-support-series-home.html
The C3KX-NM-10G is a scalability upgrade for the 3K, but its function of just pushing packets (faster) doesn't change.
cheers,
Seb.
