C4900M and Rx-No-Pkt-Buff

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for possible reasons why a C4900M running IOS 15.1(2)SG8 would suddenly start incrementing Rx-No-Pkt-Buff (in "show interfaces counters detail") during peak hours on all on-board 10G interfaces with traffic (none of them even close to full load).  And I mean heavily incrementing - from hundreds per second for 100s Mbps input traffic to thousands per second for Gbps...

We've been graphing dot3StatsInternalMacReceiveErrors for the Te1/x interfaces, and the weird thing is that all the graphs look alike - values are somewhat proportional to input traffic, but otherwise the graphs are identically shaped - when an interface increments that counter, they all increment it, no matter the traffic pattern (one of the ports is only receiving constant bitrate multicast traffic).

Could this be a hardware issue?  Is it worth trying the latest 15.2(4)E10 IOS?  It's not just a cosmetic issue, packets really get dropped...

Thank you.

Same thing happens with 15.2(4)E10...
