Hi,
The Nexus series switches are designed for data center use. If you don't need fiber channel support, you can get the non-UP version of these switches. How many 10Gig ports do you need? Do they need to be copper or fiber?

Ok perfect so I can get a c5010 or a c5548p and that will work fine with Cisco DAC sfp cables I am planning to use 16 or so fibre ports some of those going to a Gigabit FEX, also what is the diffirence between those two ? Just better hardware ?

Correct. You don't need UP (Universal Ports) version if you are not using it for FCOE.
