Hello,
We have a 6509 chassis with 2 supervisors, this chassis also has 2 power supplies installed.
Now i have noticed that 1 of the 2 power supplies seems to not be supplying the full power it should.
So for example the output is showing:

We have just been informed that the 2 power connectors on the PSU should be connected properly, Is there a way to check this connection? power-supply 1: power-supply 1 fan-fail: OK power-supply 1 power-input: AC high power-supply 1 power-output-mode: high power-supply 1 power-output-fail: OK power-supply 2: power-supply 2 fan-fail: OK power-supply 2 power-input: AC low power-supply 2 power-output-mode: low power-supply 2 power-output-fail: OK Also here i see that on power-supply 2, the power output mode: low. The 6000 W power supply can operate at either 2900 W or 6000 W depending on the number of AC power cords attached and the source AC voltage.
Note The 6000 W AC-input power supply is limited to 4000 W maximum output when it is installed in a Catalyst 6506, Catalyst 6509, or Catalyst 6509-NEB switch chassis. The power supply is limited to 4500 W maximum output when it is installed in the Catalyst 6509-NEB-A switch chassis.

INPUT 1 and INPUT 2 both connected to low-line (120 VAC nominal)

INPUT 1 connected to high-line (230 VAC nominal); INPUT 2 not connected
–
INPUT 1 not connected; INPUT 2 connected to high-line (230 VAC nominal)

INPUT 1 connected to high-line (230 VAC nominal); INPUT 2 connected to low-line (120 VAC nominal)
–
INPUT 1 connected to low-line (120 VAC nominal); INPUT 2 connected to high-line (230 VAC nominal)
–
INPUT 1 and INPUT 2 both connected to high-line (230 VAC nominal)
Please check the requirement for 6000 W operation, be sure that INPUT 1 and 2 in the PSU are connected to a 230VAC power source.

Ok,
I love it when Cisco documentation is cryptic.
So it looks there is an issue with the power input from the second power supply? Since the first one is generating 5700W and the second one 2600W.
So in order to use the 6000W mode, both supplies need to be high power mode?

It is still showing the power mode as redundant, but you can clearly see that the second power supply is just not giving the same amount of watts. Is this normal behaviour or something?
