C9200-24P switch and AP2802E (Power Consumption)

Hello Professionals,

I used to have C2960X series PoE switch, and it connected to Aironet 2802E AP with Full power provided.

However, after I replace siwtch to C9200-24P (PoE), switch does NOT provide full power to my 2802E AP.

Even I setup manually to provide the maximum power (30W), my AP still shows that it has medium power (15.4W) from the controller.

So, I put power injector between switch port and AP, nothing is changed.

Do you think that is switch issue?

Thank you.

Is CDP or LLDP enabled on the switch?

If the AP is connected to the switch, the model of the AP should show in the "sh power inline" output.  The output you've provided shows up as "n/a".

LLDP is enabled but CDP isn't because of bunch of duplex-mismatch logs.

When I enable CDP, I got bunch of these:

I had to disable the cdp.. and for the test, I enabled CDP for a while, but even though I enable the CDP, switch power provides 'medium power(15.4W)'... I'm about to frustrating myself...

hello,

please, share below information:

show interface gi 1/0/21 / show run interface gi 1/0/21
show nterface gi 1/0/22 / show run interface gi 1/0/21

try to setup speed of interface for 100... times ago i had the same problem, but it was a cable issue and i had to put interface as 100mbps.

Hello, Here is the information.

For now, I moved AP connection to other switch, cause AP doesn't work due to medium power.

and the sh run int gi1/0/21-22 :

interface GigabitEthernet1/0/21

switchport access vlan 15
switchport mode access
power inline port priority high

duplex full
no cdp enable
end

description MCA_2802E_AP_14
switchport access vlan 15
switchport mode access
power inline port priority high
power inline port 2x-mode
power inline static
duplex full
no cdp enable
end

For your information, I put power inline 2x-mode and priority high to provide maximum power. (Not 15.4W).

I did whatever I can..

Thank you so much Mr.Pessoa.

What firmware is the 2800 on?

Early firmware has a bug where the AP do not know how to negotiate speed and duplex due to a bug.
