C9300-NM-8X 10G/1G

I have 9300 switch with below module. Module support 8 Combo ports I see 8 Ten Gig Ports but only 4 1 Gig ports. Also i cant use Gi interface I configured Gig 1/1/1 interface as uplink but it brought up Ten1/1/1 interface instead. How i can use C9300-NM-8X module to use all 8 ports to use as 1 Gig instead of Ten Gig.

Otherside of 9300 is 2960x and both side we have 1 Gig MMD fiber SFP and we observed slowness in copying files and upon checking seen

What happens if this is done:

conf t
interface range Gi1/1/5 - 8
 switchport access vlan 100
end

Nothing it seems by default it uses interface as Ten 1/1/1-8 with backward compatibility to 1 G. Input queue: 0/2000/0/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 157134250 could be because Core side is Ten/1/1/1 and Access side is G1/1/1 ?

Then it is fine.

In older firmware version, there were several bugs where the interface configs would reside in Ten but would not automatically "channel" to the Gig ports.

The C9300-NM-8X is 8x 10GE, so they will show as TenGigEthernet interfaces, but should operate at 1Gig when connected.

Hi,

As per the Hardware Installation Guide:

"All ports in the C9300-NM-8X module default to 10 G and should be configured as TenGigabitEthernet1/1/1 through TenGigabitEthernet1/1/8, even when you are operating them as 1 G using SFP."

Please check as per beneath:
