C9300 stacking

I'm a little confused by Cisco's documentation and was hoping someone could clarify before I go ordering stacking cables.

I've got 2x C9300 24 port switches and the Cisco documentation (at the link below) says there always has to be an Active and a Standby. So in a 2 switch stack are the ports for the Standby switch still available for use or is it purely for redundancy? i.e. if I stack the two switches do I get 24 usable ports with redundancy or do I get 48 ports?

You get 48 and if you have modules added that will add too.
