C9500-12Q and 40G/10G Breakout Cables

So I know these are compatible but I need to know if the port configuration for these cables is on an individual basis or if they are grouped. In other words, can I use one breakout cable on port 3 and all other ports use 40G QSFP?

Thanks for the prompt reply. The 10G side will connect to servers using 10G SFP slot. The included link was helpful.
