C9500-32QC support for LRM optics using QSA CVR

Why on earth did Cisco not support the SFP+LRM module with their QSA CVR module? It was not until we installed our C9500-32QCs and C9606Rs did we realize we had major problems. It slipped by us -- I did a lot of testing and must have missed that point. Seems like all they had to do was write a small piece of code for it!  The C9606Rs has the 1/10/25 module so we lucked out on those switches since they still supported the LRMs. We used some 3rd party optics and still could not get the C9500s to work with the LRM even when we recoded the optics as another type with a tool. We had to install additional switches since installing new long fibers runs during a switchover is not possible.

Anyone find a way around this using the existing hardware?  or 3rd party optics?  We tried every command out there for 3rd party optics but had no luck with them or the CIsco SFP+LRMs.

If CIsco supports these in a later release I am going to be really upset since we are installing new fiber runs because of this to get our temp switches pulled back out.

Contact your Cisco AM/SE and ask them to raise an PER (product enhancement request).

The BU may be able to generate an SMU to get the optics to work.

Alternatively, if you are using non-Cisco branded SFP ask the manufacturer if they can "re-flash" the optics so it will show up as "LR".
