Campus network with VSS, VRF and FWSM

Corporate Noc

Hi,

Planning for an 30000 seater campus with Building core and DC core setup.

Users distributed across block(buildings) will access network/ IT infrastructure hosted at Data center.

Building core (block 1 2 and 3) and Data center core is in VSS, required port channels are configured. (diagram attached)

now we need to break VTP and STP domain at each building level and configure VRF lite for each VLAN.

Each VLAN default gateway will be pointing to Bulding core from there appropriate routing will forward the traffic to DC core through its own VRF lite.

Is there any deployment guide available for this kind of setup?

key points - VLAN saperation using VRF, Inter VLAN / VRF communication through FWSM (routed mode)

Thanks

Hi,

Have a look at this doc.  It goes over vrf Lite deployment and inter VRF routing.

Thanks a lot Reza,

Document helped me with multiple option for VRF lite implementation in campus.

However have few queries about providing shared services access to these VRF saperated LAN's through FWSM in routed mode.

appriciate if you could help me with the same.

Thanks

Hi MSG,

If you are going to use the FWSM, you need to make sure you have the correct number of licenses for multi-context development. In routed mode, you would need to use static or or EBGP. See page 76 and 78 in the same link.
