Hi,
Can 10Gbase SFP+ module support 1GB traffic on a Nexus 5596T.
The module for 10Gb is Cisco SFP-10G-SR. My scenario is connecting the 10GB SFP+ module to an access switch 1GB fiber uplink, will this work?
Thanks.

Thanks for the fast response.
Is there any reference made to this available on cisco, I need to provide this to the customer. Also what will occur, will the link remain down?

That SFP is 10GB only. I don't know of a link, but I'm sure there is one out there. The link will not come up.

It is THE international IEEE standard (and it ain't just Cisco).
10 Gbps will only negotiate to 10 Gbps, full duplex.
