Basically I want to migrate the below configurations from 6500s to a nexus 5K with L3 expansion module? Is this possibl?

   default-router x.x.x.1
   domain-name xxx.com

Mir,

N5K is L2 only, it doesnt support to have DHCP server on it.
Please take a look at the data sheet, under Product Specifications, you will not be able to find any L3 features such as routing.

Also 5K does not support routing protocols but it does support inter vlan routing

On N7k you will have these features.

I am not sure about DHCP but isn't the purpose of the layer three daughter card to provide routing functionality? I have a 5548UP with a layer three daughter card and I am running EIGRP, inter VLAN routing and DHCP relay. If you look at the same link table 5 lists the software licenses and there is a base and enterprise layer three license. So I wouldn't consider it to be only a layer 2 switch
